First Tracks

After a two season hiatus, I finally got to strap my snowboard on for some first tracks of the season at Snowshoe. We had a great time - the conditions were suprisingly good. We were surprised when we arrived at the top of the mountain to find that it was only 18 degrees after seeing close to 70 the day before!
Here I am getting used to riding again...

And here's Mr. Fancypants

Thanksgiving with family.

We drove into Amherst/Lynchburg to spend Thanksgiving with the family. We had a yummy turkey dinner with almost the entire Mayberry family plus Rich and Jolene. Last year Grayson was the only baby in the family and this year with Kim's new addition and Megan's two new additions there were babies everywhere! What a difference a year makes!

We enjoyed spending some time outside in the nice weather before the crowd arrived.

Peyton still thinks Grayson is her baby.

First Haircut!

Our baby boy went from having a head full of dark hair when he was born to almost no hair at around 3 months old to now having enough blondish/brownish hair to actually need a trim! His Grammy gave him his first trim when she came for a visit this past weekend. He got to sit in the chair where all of the other kids in the family used to get their hair cut back in Indiana. (It's actually his high chair - he's just sitting on the tray!) We put in a Baby MacDonald video and he didn't make any fuss during the entire haircut. I think this was a MUCH better experience than we would have had at the barber! And he seemed to like the final result, too!

Sweet November!

Despite Grayson feeling a little under-the-weather, we've had a fun November enjoying the new house.

Grayson likes to play on the deck.Ride-on!
He has learned how to play peekabo with his hands!
Mommy is always up for some time on the deck!
He likes hiding his giraffe in his tent.

My four boys. I had to snap fast - you don't see this often!

Go Hokies! Like my hat?

Grayson enjoys watching the progress on the house across the street.

Ugh...Rash!

About ten days ago Grayson developed a pretty bad rash all over his body. The pictures don't nearly show how bad it was. At first it was accompanied by a high fever and bad cold, but the cold and fever finally went away. The first doctor thought it was just really bad eczema, but when the rash was still there a week later another doctor thought that it might be triggered from something in his diet or environment. So for the next 10 days Grayson is on a dairy-free diet. Ugh. He's really going to miss his yogurt and cheese and milk. Hopefully we can find some yummy things in their place!

The Big Move!

The house was finally completed at the end of October and we closed on the house on November 1st. We still don't have tons of pictures to post but here are a few. Grayson really seems to be enjoying the new place, as do the cats. Steve and I definitely enjoy the extra space and have already managed to fill up part of the basement with our junk. It was! especially exciting yesterday when we finally got the garage cleared out enough to hold two cars.

Grayson had fun with the moving boxes.

We were excited to put Grayson in the "real" bathtub upstairs in his bathroom (because our old tub didn't hold water.) But Grayson made it very clear that he still prefers a bath in the sink.
