Happy Halloween!

Even though this is officially Grayson's second Halloween, it's really the first that he's gotten to fully experience. Jill let us borrow Dallas' costume from last year. We're not sure if it's a duck, chicken, or minature Big Bird (we heard all three!), but we thought Grayson made a pretty cute specimen of some type of poultry...
He actually got to "Tick or Treat" at one house. Kelly's friend Kim even had a special treat for Grayson - Goldfish!
Grayson helped his Daddy hand out candy back at our house.
He enjoyed walking down the sidewalk to greet the Trick or Treaters.
And sometimes he just like being a lawn decoration for everyone to see.

Then and Now

Jennifer sent this adorable Sweet Pea set to Grayson last year. It's hard to believe it's already been a year. He's grown quite a bit - almost 15 pounds to be exact - but he's still our little Sweet Pea.

W&M Homecoming

Believe it or not, it's been 10 years since Kelly graduated from William and Mary. Last weekend was the big 10 year reunion at W&M's Homecoming. In typical Tribe style, we didn't actually make it into the stadium to watch the game (does anyone know who we played?), but we did have a great time seeing all of Kelly's girlfriends again!
I think we counted 12 girls. A few brought their kiddos along.
Steve was on wagon duty. Grayson found a cutie cheerleader!
Cathy treated everyone to some nostalgic jello shooters.
"No, sweetie, these jello shots are just for big people."

Happy Birthday to Grayson!

Let's just say Grayson isn't a big fan of sweets...

Birthday Boy

Grayson turned 1 on Friday! We can't believe a year has already gone by! He's growing up so fast.
We had a little party for Grayson with the family on Saruday, but we wanted him to open one gift on his "real" birthday." So as soon as we all got up on Friday Grayson got to help open his very first gift! That night Mommy and Nana decorated a birthday cake for Grayson. There was a big one for the group and a matching little one just for Grayson to smash.
The next day we got the table ready for the party at Grammy and Grandpa's house.Grayson was ready to go!Until his cake was delivered to his tray. Then he didn't know what to do...Opening presents was more fun...His mini-cell blocks were a big hit. We got to see a little sensory overload later...
He enjoyed his rides in his new wagon.Do you like my shirt? The next day Daddy and Grandpa smoked ribs for lunch. And we spent lots of time walking in the yard. Grayson loves to look at leaves.
And he rode in the backpack for a while.
Then he got tired and napped with Grammy in the swing.
It was a big weekend for our one year old baby boy!

Now that I can walk...

Grayson has been walking for a little over a month now, but we've been pretty lazy about catching him on camera. Here's a little peek at our walkin' man...

Octoberfest

Since summer has decided to stick around for a while we've been able to take advantage of lots of outdoor time. Last weekend we went to the local pumpkin festival. Grayson liked looking at all the pumpkins but he finally chose a tiny one that he could carry around with him. Unlike these in the pciture, it's only about 3 inches wide. We also went to Pandapas Pond where Grayson got to play in the woods. He loved playing with the sticks and tried to eat acorns like the squirrels until Mommy stopped him!
We took a walk across the bridge that usually spans water, but it's been so dry that there's no water left!
Later we went to the Horticulture Gardens at Virginia Tech where Grayson can run around and play. He likes to tackle his Daddy!
And he enjoyed touching the different flowers to see what they felt like, too.

Gauley Season

Gauley Season in WV means good boating for Daddy, but for Grayson it means fun times with his buddy, Jackson.
He's a little smitten with Angela, too. He's getting lots of practice running shuttle for Daddy.
And Daddy is showing him a thing or two about bikes, too.
