Our Easter vacation began a day early when we spent Saturday morning at Rich and Jolene's. We enjoyed a huge and delicious Easter breakfast which was actually more like 3 breakfasts in one. The boys had so much fun hunting eggs and playing with bubbles. After they were good and tired from all the fun we put them in the car to head to the second Easter destination.

Whoah!

Luke was pretty proud, too!
Look at the loot!

So after Easter breakfast we headed to our friend Travis' house in Montvale. Travis lives in the woods and is very much a guy's guy. He has every big boy toy you could imagine. His property boasts a cute house, two sail boats, a shed with an ATV, a tractor, a chicken coop, a stream, multiple canoes, and dogs. His latest creation was a trebuchet. He invited some friends up for the inaugural toss and while I think the intent was to eventually work up to hurling a flaming toilet across the field, the boys and I left after they had mastered about 40 pounds of weights.
The boys loved the creek.
We had to laugh at Travis because the chicken coop had an electric fence around it to protect them from bears. It also had a heated coop to keep them warm in cold weather. We said the chickens got the Ritz and the poor dogs were just in the Motel 8 with no heat in their house.
And the star of the afternoon....
So after a fun day with the big boys, my two little guys and I made our way to Nana's house. We woke up early Easter morning and had a few fun minutes with the basket the Easter bunny left and then loaded up to head to Williamsburg where my sister and her kid were already waiting for us.
At the condo in Williamsburg the kids went on an Easter egg hunt. Nana helped the little ones a bit.
I guess when you drop your basket you have to find another way to carry your eggs...
It was an unusually warm April so we were fortunate that the outdoor pool at the resort was already open. That doesn't mean the water was warm, but with the outside temperate over 90, my Mom was brave enough to venture in with the kids. Kim and I also thought this was only fair because, of the three of us right now, my Mom looks best in a bathing suit.
There is a fabulous park right around the corner from the resort where we stay. It's called Kidsburg and I was originally introduced to it when I babysat for some kids in Williamsburg when I was at William and Mary. Little did I know, one day I would be there with my own two little boys! Grayson absolutely loved the park and was quite the king of the zip line. Unfortunately I didn't snap any pictures on the zip line, but here's a cute one of him trying our the suspension bridge.
And, of course, it wouldn't be a trip to Williamsburg without a visit to DOG street and the colonial area. I was shocked that all 5 kids did make the 2 mile trek from the Wren building to the Capital and back. In typical fashion, though, of everything we saw on DOG street, I think they found the horse poop the most remarkable.
Here's the obligatory Colonial Williamsburg photo with Peyton and Cameron. I'm sure Kim might like for Chris to recreate one of these in the backyard...
