Birthday!

Well I have to admit I'm a little late posting this given that I'm actually talking about my own birthday from last month! Technically I got to celebrate a few times - once with Rich and Jolene, once on my birthday itself, and once the next weekend when we went in to see my Mom. But the 16th itself, proved quite an interesting day. Steve was out of town, Rich and Jolene were out of town, and I had class. So....I arranged for one of the girls who works in my office to pick up my boys and entertain them on campus until I got out of class. It was a great plan until I realized that I had left my phone in my office so had no way for Amanda to reach me if she needed me - and I had no way to reach her. Then after class I realized I hadn't really specified where we would meet. Needless to say, my planning needed a little work! In any case, after much confusion and about a half hour, Amanda and I met back up. Bless her heart, she had had the boys make me a birthday card, picked out balloons, and she and her friend had gotten me a bottle of wine and a cake and even got green icing for the boys to decorate it. She said she just couldn't imagine me spending my birthday evening alone with no cake. So when the boys and I got home, we had a nice little celebration!
