Since the boys both go bananas over trains, we bought a family membership to the Transportation Museum in Roanoke this year. While it has antique cars and even an old rocket, its focus is definitely on trains. Having the membership makes it easy to stop in for just a half hour which is exactly what we did last weekend. On the way to Amherst we stopped by and certainly weren't expecting to see....
Santa!
Santa!
Grayson literally ran to him and jumped in his arms. Fortunately this was a very hip and spry Santa! Luke wasn't as thrilled but did get fairly close to him without crying.
Inside the boys found their usual favorite displays of the model trains. We didn't visit the outside trains since it was snowy!

And as a bonus we happened to be there on the day the Roanoke Model Train Club was holding an open house in the basement of the museum so Grayson got a chance to get up close and personal with some model trains. This was WAY better that being in a candy store for this kid!
