Fourth of July Celebration

We stayed in Blacksburg and celebrated the Fourth of July with our neighbors and their parents. I was lucky to have my Mom in town and Steve's parents were also around that weekend so we ended up having quite a crew! Good friends. Good times! We started the day with the Blacksburg Fourth of July Parade - a truly small-town celebration. Unfortunately it rained, but not enough to keep us away and the kids enjoyed waving their flags.

Back at home we have quite a feast that evening! Everyone brought more than enough food to feed an army and between us all I think we could have served half the town.

The rain lingered into the evening so what I envisioned to be an outdoor party ended up being a garage party. With our steep driveway this created for some interesting, if dangerous, entertainment for the kids. SOMEONE kept taking off on "get set". Any guesses who?I love the look on Luke's face! Priceless!

Grayson's hair pretty much says it all.
My boys are not big fans of the fireworks.

Even though this was about as big as our fireworks show got!

Good think Grayson had safety on his mind and decided to wear his helmet to protect him while playing with sparkles!!! Truly the son of an eagle scout! Smile. Luke on the other hand - just sticking that tough out to catch a spark. Perfect!
